Job Description:

Forum is seeking an energetic, intuitive, and results-oriented Manager of Finance to join our growing team. The preferred candidate is accustomed to handling outsized responsibilities with limited resources and can comfortably operate in a high-paced environment. Your responsibilities will encompass structured and corporate finance, investor relations, project development, project sales modeling, and other financial-related support.
You will be expected to quickly identify and act on priorities without needing direction and frequent oversight. You will also be expected to have a pulse on the entire organization, understanding how individual project decisions advance or hinder the company’s broader goals and future capital needs. You will lead discussions with lenders and identify opportunities to enhance project economics with leverage. You will create scalable processes that enhance collaboration and drive efficiency across the organization. Experience with infrastructure development, new-market entry and/or high-growth start-up’s is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of financial models and work collaboratively with Sales team on pricing strategies for charging contracts and vehicle leasing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with capital markets and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for loans and credit facilities.
  • Manage corporate finance tasks, including budgeting and forecasting, to accurately forecast near- and long-term capital needs. Executing capital calls from our current financing.
  • Play a leading role in creating board meeting materials, offering insights and contributing to strategic decisions.
  • Integrate budgeting with our financial statements and perform some accounting support functions as needed.
  • Review credit rating of potential customers.
  • Work with legal and tax experts to extract maximum value of tax credits in project financing.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Communicate effectively, ensuring clarity and alignment of financial strategies with company goals.
  • Holistically evaluate and manage financial risks and opportunities.
  • Assess and strategize the financial viability of entering new markets.
  • Operating with a mindset of proactivity, efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role, with a strong emphasis on structured finance and corporate finance, preferably in infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and holistically about market dynamics.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the potential to build and manage a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated mastery of financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Entrepreneurial and results-oriented. Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
  • Located in the Bay Area. The team meets in the San Francisco office 2x per week.

Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000

Marketing Manager

We are building a network of heavy-duty electric truck charging depots in and around ports and along common freight corridors and offer one-stop solutions for carriers and drivers. We provide charging, or a truck plus charging together, to make the transition to electric trucks as easy as possible for fleets and drivers. Success in this effort means cleaner air for our communities, a safer climate, and lower costs per mile for truckers. Based in San Francisco, Forum is currently operating in California with expansion plans. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing company poised for tremendous impact.

Position Summary:

This position is Forum’s first dedicated marketing role and will lead efforts to develop and execute multi-channel marketing plans, and support the team in developing marketing materials that communicate our value proposition to diverse audiences in compelling ways. Forum needs to fill its depots with thousands of electric trucks over the next several years, and this role will be instrumental in filling them with ex-diesel drivers.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneur at heart, able to create pathways where there are no maps; an excellent communicator and zero-emission freight evangelist; skilled project manager able to pursue multiple simultaneous priorities; creative campaigner and dynamic storyteller; excited about the challenge of understanding and connecting with the diverse trucker community; and has an analytic bent, able to test and refine strategies for ROI. We are looking for someone that is able engage deeply with the freight community, and help Forum convey our value proposition. The candidate must be comfortable with the challenges of a small company in growth-mode.

The role will report to the EVP of Policy and Communications, and will collaborate with the Sales and Development teams. The position is located in the Bay Area, within periodic commuting proximity to the Forum Mobility office in San Francisco, CA. Forum Mobility is currently operating under a hybrid work policy with employees expected in the office during certain but not all days of the week.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine company brand strategy
  • Develop and implement multi-channel marketing plan, grounded in deep customer research
  • Drive interest in zero emission freight with cargo owners; help create and popularize a new differentiated category
  • Plan and budget ad spend
  • Develop and implement social media strategy
  • Leverage insights and customer behavioral data to develop segmentation and targeting strategy
  • Understand customer behaviors that trigger acquisition, engagement, and retention, and create marketing programs that drive desired behaviors
  • Collaborate with sales team and design consultants to prepare marketing materials, including 1-pagers, powerpoint templates, social media graphics, and schwag
  • Support community engagement through events and meetings
  • Collaborate with Sales Team on conference strategy: identify conferences of interest, submit abstracts for team speaking engagements, help sales staff prep to connect with target customers

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in marketing
  • Experience creating multi-channel media plans in a B2B space
  • Excellent communication skills – good writer, creative campaigner
  • Ability to analyze data for impact, and optimize effort for ROI
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred but not required: experience in transportation, freight, or electric vehicle industry
